Atos and Harvard Business Publishing Recognized with EFMD Excellence in Practice Award

Leroy Peemen Avatar
EFMD Excellence in Practice Gold Award

Today, we are so proud to share that our client, Atos, together with Harvard Business Publishing (HBP) has received a Gold EFMD Excellence in Practice Award for Leadership Development. EFMD, a global organization dedicated to management development, awards impactful client-supplier partnerships each year in the Leadership, Professional, Talent, and Organizational Development arenas.

Atos and HBP were recognized for Atos’ Leading in a Digital Age (LIDA) initiative. Together, we partnered on this cutting-edge initiative to develop the leadership capabilities Atos needed to transform their business and thrive amid digital disruption.

The business challenge

Headquartered in France, Atos is a global information technology service and consulting company. When Atos first partnered with us in 2018, they expressed some critical business challenges: Their leaders needed to digitalize their own internal processes and competencies while, at the same time, help their clients navigate the digital revolution and bring about transformation of their own.

The solution

To help design and deliver LIDA, Atos turned to HBP. Working in close collaboration with Atos, we created a high-impact program for their global management population. Synergy was critical to our approach: We aligned our world-class leadership development content and blended learning design with Atos’ goals, culture, and values.

Atos’ strategy relied on leaders with a broader range of managerial and leadership competencies than was required in the past. Managers were to embrace a new way of leadership – to become more confident, more inspirational, more compassionate, more engaged with their teams.

The results

Between September 2018 and April 2022, Atos and HBP delivered leadership development programs to eight cohorts of 200 participants each. To date, Atos has reached approximately 1,500 of their leaders, representing all functions and regions in which they operate, with additional cohorts underway.

Among other outcomes, managers have witnessed more confident, strategic leaders who are prepared to lead Atos into the digital future. The retention rate for LIDA alumni exceeds the overall Atos norm by 10%, and since 2018, Atos has witnessed a twelve-point increase in the Great Places to Work survey.

Acknowledging the award news, Ian Fanton, HBP’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Learning, said:

“We take tremendous pride in the accomplishments of our clients and the role we play in helping them succeed. So, it’s very gratifying for our efforts to be recognized. Thank you, EFMD, for this prestigious award, and thank you to our partners at Atos—we look forward to our continued collaboration and innovations in the years ahead.”

Congratulations to our partners at Atos, and to the extended HBP team who have worked so diligently on the LIDA initiative.
