A skilled potter and educator, Bill currently serves as president of the Victoria Art League and exhibits locally at the Rockport Center for the Arts. FRANK & SUZY BIRD specialize in high-fire functional stoneware with a whimsical twist. The clay is fired to stoneware temps after glazing and then occasionally overlaid with gold at lower temps. The ultimate creation is a combination of well-formed, excellently decorated functional pots. MARILYN BOLING enjoys expressing herself in largely hand-built pieces incorporating fabric. Owner of Wall Designs, Plus in New Braunfels, Marilyn has participated in the Bountiful Bowl since its inception. RONALD BOLING, First Prize Winner Bountiful Bowl Pottery Fair 2006, is Art Gallery Director for the Division of Visual Arts at the University of Texas, San Antonio. Ron’s works have been showcased throughout the United States. He currently has pieces featured at The Rockport Center for the Arts. EMILY BROWN is a graduate of UT in Fine Arts and 3rd Place Winner at Bountiful Bowl 2011. In 2007 she launched Little e Pottery from her home studio in Austin where she is a full-time potter. Barbara teaches classes for children and adults in her home studio and was 2nd Place Winner at Bountiful Bowl 2011. CINDY FUQUA is a potter from Alba. The graceful forms and flowing lines of her works make her functional and decorative pottery a favorite of art lovers. Cindy imbues her pottery with a positive life energy that charges its surroundings. WALT & CYNTHIA GLASS have been crafting quality high-fired Stoneware & Porcelain pottery for almost 40 years at their Lake McQueeney studio. Their work is shown in their Village Gallery in downtown San Antonio 210-226-0404. MIKE GRAFA lives in Austin where he works at his studio and teaches at Austin Community College. Mike’s work is exhibited at Clarksville Gallery, Austin; 1550 Gallery, Kerrville; Tested By Fire, San Antonio; Clay Coyote Gallery and Pottery, Hutchinson, MN; Zimmerman Gallery, Augusta, GA. GEORGE & LORRAINE HAMILTON have been working and playing with pottery for the last eight years at their home and studio on Padre Island. Trained by teachers at local art centers, they are versed in both the wheel and hand-building techniques. Their works are exhibited at Popo’s Studio and Gallery in Rockport. FRASER HARRIS has been intrigued by clay his entire life. With degrees from Southwest Texas and New Mexico Highlands University, Fraser teaches and has a studio in downtown Buda, Texas. His works are known for their depiction of humor. SHEILA HEDEMAN is a retired teacher from Michigan now living in Rockport. Her designs are inspired by flowers and birds in her garden. Her love of texture and collage is evident in her work. TAYLOR HENDRIX has been throwing functional and non-functional pots since 2002 when he was taught to use the wheel by a good friend in Waco. A Rockport area potter, Taylor is known for his pit-firing techniques and was 1st Place Winner in Bountiful Bowl 2011. TOM HICKS relocated to Lubbock in 2005. He creates his clay pieces and paints and glazes them at home and at the Clay Studio at The Underwood Center. An accomplished painter, Tom ventured into pottery in 1998 and has enjoyed working in this media ever since. He exhibits at the Llano Wine and Clay show each June and is a dedicated supporter of the Bountiful Bowl. BILL HILDEBRAND is a regional ceramics instructor who lives in Rockport. Bill is experienced in the techniques of slip casting, wheel throwing, hand building, stoneware, kiln building and raku. Bill exhibits at the Port Aransas Art Center and the Rockport Center for the Arts where he also teaches classes. Bill was instrumental in initiating the Bountiful Bowl Pottery Fair and is a mainstay of the event. JASON HOOPER a tech transplant to Austin from England, works in his home studio creating wheel thrown stoneware pottery that is functional and decorative. Seven years into his craft, Jason’s work has simple lines and gently curved surfaces often enhanced with tri-footed bases. www.jjhooper.com SHIKHA JOSHI established her studio in Round Rock in 2003. Joshi's pieces are a fine balance between aesthetics and function - functional forms enhanced by elaborate surface embellishments. GENIE MYSORSKI is well known in Rockport for teaching pottery to children and adults alike. Genie owns Pottery by Genie and her works are displayed at the Art Gallery at Latitudes and at The Rockport Center for the Arts. Her latest pieces are vases that combine hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques to create a unique surface using red earthenware clay. LINDA NOWELL creates both decorative and functional pottery at her studio in Texas’ Hill Country. Her pieces are inspired by the works of wood turners, basket weavers, sculptors and nature. JIM BOB SALAZAR Best of Show Bountiful Bowl Pottery Fair 2009 and 2010 is a tenured Professor of Art at Sul Ross State University, Alpine where he has taught for over 14 years. His works reflect commercial training merged with styles of Frank Lloyd Wright and oriental packaging. This year Jim Bob is the featured potter at the Rockport Center for the Arts. They collaborate on their pieces, Gretchen creating the shape and Tony the design many of which are Mandala images-meditation symbols of various cultures. ANN SCIBA is a full-time craftsperson residing in Wharton where she fashions Stoneware Pottery by Ann Sciba. Clay has been the focus of her life since 1967. Ann has worked extensively with clay in both industrial and educational settings polishing her skills in Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas. She has worked and taught throughout the area and enjoys selling her work in a few selected shops and art shows. Paige and her husband, Ray, live in Smithville where they have built a car kiln. ED TAYLOR produces his classically shaped pottery at his studio in San Marcos, Texas. Ed’s pieces are thrown from Raku clay and glazed with copper matte glaze before firing to 1700 degrees fahrenheit before being smoked at 700 degrees. This unique firing process distinguishes Ed’s work from those of his counterparts. PAUL UHL has created an eclectic style of his own from his past experiences and his daily life. His works are influenced by the orient and the southwest and are wheel-thrown or slab built. He considers his work decorative first and functional second. His tea vessels and large wall platters are visual treats. Most of her pieces are functional and are either wheel-thrown or made from slabs of clay. MERLIEN WILDER makes functional pottery at her studio in Corpus Christi Texas.
